Singer Jennifer Lopez was seen arguing furiously with boyfriend Diddy at the 2000 MTV VMAs after-party – the night the rapper was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.
The images have been released for the first time, showing a heated argument between the power couple hours before the alleged shocking incident. An eyewitness told the Daily Mail that Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, her sister Lynda and a group of friends attended the after-party. The event, co-hosted by rappers Eminem and Dr. Dre, was a star-studded affair at a now-closed New York nightclub. Jennifer Lopez received a standing ovation that night after winning the award for Best Dance Video for her music video Waiting for Tonight .
Witnesses said Diddy and J.Lo were at odds from the start of the party: “As the night went on, tension between him and J.Lo increased,” leading to a heated exchange in the middle of a crowded room.
In the photo, the On the Floor singer stands on a raised platform, looking annoyed, glaring at Diddy as the rapper pours champagne. Sources say J.Lo’s sister tried to calm the tension between them, but the argument continued. The incident only ended when Diddy abruptly left with Jennifer Lopez and her entourage.
The photos have been resurfaced as Diddy, who is in prison, faces a new lawsuit in which the plaintiff alleges the rapper raped her after the 2000 MTV VMAs. The plaintiff says she was 13 years old when Diddy’s driver drove her to a house party (not the nightclub in the photo), where she was given a drink and felt dizzy. The lawsuit says she went into a bedroom to rest, but Diddy, a male and female celebrity suddenly appeared. The male celebrity and Diddy then allegedly raped her while the female celebrity watched. She says she panicked and ran to a gas station and called her father to pick her up.
Diddy’s attorney has denied the allegations, as well as a number of other lawsuits accusing the rapper of sexual assault. Diddy was arrested by federal police on September 16 on charges of sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit extortion and soliciting prostitution. The 54-year-old rap mogul has pleaded not guilty and is in custody awaiting trial in May 2025.
Jennifer Lopez , who dated Diddy from 1999 to 2001, has remained silent on her ex-boyfriend’s sexual assault allegations. At a recent event, while signing autographs for fans, the 55-year-old singer abruptly walked away when someone asked, “J.Lo, do you have any comments about Diddy and the allegations?” Some fans begged J.Lo to sign more, but she did not turn around.
