The Denver Nuggets held off a furious comeback from the Oklahoma City Thunder to seal a 122-110 win on the road.

Denver started the game with a bang, knocking down ten of their 18 3-pointers in the first quarter to build a double-digit lead and after they extended their lead to as many as 19 points, the Thunder roared back into the contest, forcing turnovers and scoring in the paint at a rapid rate.

Nikola Jokic moved up to sixth all-time in triple-doubles, passing Wilt Chamberlain with the 79th of his career, recording 15 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists in the win, while Aaron Gordon led the Nuggets in scoring with 27 points followed by Jamal Murray with 24.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued his hot start to the season, pouring in 37 points on 13-of-17 from the field and a perfect 11-of-11 at the free throw line as OKC now fall to 4-4 on the season.

10:16 p.m. — That’s all she wrote, the Nuggets hold on for a comfortable 12-point win after a dominant fourth quarter. 

10:10 p.m. — Jamal Murray took over in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 of his 24 points!

10:08 p.m. — The Nuggets have put their foot on the gas in the fourth quarter, outscoring OKC 24-13. 

Does OKC have another comeback in them?


I think it’s safe to say Jamal Murray is officially back.

End of third quarter: Thunder 95, Nuggets 95

We’re all square heading into the fourth quarter after the Thunder found their offensive groove, outscoring the Nuggets 38-24.

OKC has dominated in the paint, attacking the basket with little resistance. They’ve outscored Denver 62-34 in points in the paint. 

9:47 p.m. — Nikola Jokic continues to make history in a Nuggets uniform, moving up to sixth all-time in triple-doubles. He’s got 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists tonight. 

9:45 p.m. — Pokuševski fakes out the defense and lays it in to give OKC their first lead of the night 93-91.

9:41 p.m. — Another steal for the Thunder, this time from Josh Giddey, intercepting Jokic’s pass. That’s 14 turnovers the Thunder have forced tonight.

9:32 p.m. — Here come the Thunder! Back-to-back buckets from Josh Giddey has them within five points. Again, it all starts on the defensive end for OKC.

9:28 p.m. — While the Nuggets have lit it up from deep, the Thunder have clawed their way back into the contest, dominating the paint. They’ve outscored the Nuggets 42-22 inside. Denver lead 71-63 with 10:17 remaining.

9:07 p.m. — The Nuggets cooled off from deep in the second quarter, but they still hold a 14-point lead thanks to Aaron Gordon’s scoring (23 points) and Jokic’s playmaking (8 assists).

9:00 p.m. — INJURY UPDATE: Zeke Nnaji is ‘questionable’ to return to the game due to his ankle sprain.

8:57 p.m. — Nikola Jokic has six assists for the Nuggets, but has yet to make a field goal (0-of-1).

8:53 p.m. — Lu Dort’s activity on defense is causing havoc in the second quarter. That’s six-straight points for OKC off turnovers. 

8:52 p.m. — Zeke Nnaji heads to the locker room after appearing to roll his ankle. He was helped off the floor by DeAndre Jordan and a trainer.

8:47 p.m. — OKC doing a much better job of getting up early on the Nuggets’ offense, contesting shots and limiting their ball movement.

8:39 p.m — A blistering first 12 minutes from the 3-point line gives the Nuggets a 13-point lead at the end of the first. 

Aaron Gordon leads Denver with 15 points, while SGA has 17 for OKC.

8:33 p.m. — Here comes Shai!

SGA keeping the Thunder close, scoring their last nine points. He’s got 15 in the quarter on 5-of-6 shooting.

8:31 p.m. — The threes just keep falling for Denver. They’re 9-of-12 from deep in the opening quarter!

8:21 p.m. — OKC has settled into the contest thanks to their defense, forcing turnovers. Nuggets lead 21-11.

8:19 p.m. — Jokic serves up the alley-oop for Gordon!

8:16 p.m. — The Nuggets have started the game with a bang, racing out to an 13-0 lead, with Aaron Gordon hitting his first three 3-point attempts.
